Subject: Lotus Traveler configuration problem
Feedback Type: Problem
Product Area: Domino Server
Technical Area: Administration
Platform: Windows 2003 server
Release: 8.5
Reproducible: Always

We're trying to get a Nokia E75 to work with Lotus Traveler. I could just as well say "we're trying to get Traveler to work", because we don't have any other mobile devices to test it with at the moment.

We're running a recently upgraded 8.5 Domino Server (was running Domino 8.0.1 with an untested Traveler 8.0.1), on which the Traveler was upgraded to 8.5.1 too. The server is running Http for both iNotes and Traveler. Traveler was installed with default values on the 8.0.1. The only thing that was changed to the Domino configuration was the addition of internet site documents: one default site document with http auth, and one override web rule (Override Session Authentication) for /servlet/traveler*. This was done after the install of Traveler 8.0.1 before the upgrade.

The test fix (LO36929) from IBM was installed after the upgrade to get the E75 to work, but we still can't get the device to register with the server (initial setup on the mobile) The log on the E75 shows a general error "Cannot connect to server on port 80" and "The server returned an unexpected response". I have no clue on how to set the logging on the client to more verbose, although I know it's possible. The Traveler view on the Domino administrator shows the user as being registered after this failed initial sync, but the user has no registered devices.

We can connect to the URL on the server (http:hostname/servlet/traveler) from the mobile.

There is not much knowledge here about the Domino Web server, so I would like to know where to look: should I increase the timeouts in the http configuration doc of the server, should I create my internet site documents in another way or do I need to change anything there? Any clues are greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your help!
